Hi, I’m Ryan Krebs

I’m Ryan, but everyone calls me Krebs.

By day I work at Groove, by way of Google Cloud, Optimizely and early stage startups. I’ve been a denizen of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and NYC.

Outside the virtual office, I run ultramarathons and ponder the random yet specific questions of life.

Three Facts About me

I work in Technology BizDev via Startups

I’m an early sales hire at Google Cloud, having previously been employee ~#200 at Optimizely and employee #1 at a publicity startup. 20% projects include co-inventing something that Google filed a patent for.

I ran for office when I was 18

I ran for Mayor of my hometown when I was 18 which lead to successful elections to my college student body presidency and a neighborhood council in LA for a term.

Media Appearances include Larry King, a Japanese Game Show and a Blockchain newsletter

I was a guest panelist on “Larry King Now” for the 2012 election, I co founded a crypto newsletter, and I will tell you the game show story over a coffee.

Three things I am interested in

  1. Learning what our world is built on.
  2. Increasing my “collision factor” (blog post to follow).
  3. Finding lesser known companies, books and to invest time and $ in.
Projects I HAVE WORKED ON

Building communities

After living with 60 people in a SF co-living space, I got a passion for building communities which have included co-founding a blockchain newsletter, “The Public Key”, scaling a SF Wim Hof Method group to a few hundred members and a travel club.

running – long distance

I went from being an occasional runner to finishing 6th place in the San Francisco ultramarathon. I’ve also placed in the top three for my age group in a race, and love to always hit the road or trail.

Public Speaking, Toastmasters and improv

I don’t shy away from public speaking, and served as the President at Rhino Toastmasters when I lived in SF. Upon arrival in NYC, I got involved with the Upright Citizens Brigade academy and performed live.
